Artist Submission Information

Criteria

  1. Good presentation and attention to craftsmanship
  2. Ability to produce an end product which displays quality craftsmanship
    • Strong drawing and imaging skills
    • Well developed visual concepts
    • Knowledgeable application of visual design principles
    • Imaginativeness in use of materials
  3. In line with Red Cross values and guiding principles
    1. The goal of the gallery is to create a welcoming, relaxing environment for blood and chapter staff and volunteers and those that they serve. The Red Cross places emphasis on respect for the individual and values diversity.

Submission
  1. Portfolio / Statement of work
  2. Examples of Work, in one of the following forms:
    • Slides
    • Photos
    • Discs (electronic portfolio)

Review

  1. One review by standing member and rotating committee member
  2. Artist Packet
    • Letter of acceptance or letter of regret if artist is not selected
    • Download and complete the art exhibits and consignment agreement

    • Guidelines for display (including weight limits) — discuss how to display harmoniously
    • Expectations
    • Documentation of submitted work
  3. Final acceptance may be subject to Senior Management approval

Responsibilities 

  1. The Beautification Committee will be responsible to maintain the records generated by artist submissions process.
  2. The selected committee member for each approved artist will be responsible for providing the artist packet, becoming the artist contact person and making all arrangements necessary for the artist presentation.
  3. The Communications and Marketing Department will be responsible for providing communication concerning the artist presentation as necessary when requested by the selected committee member.
  4. The submitting artist is responsible to submit the requested information in the artist agreement to the review committee and be responsible to work with the assigned committee member to set-up and take down the artist presentation.
